Warsash Maritime Academy, UK.
                                  Class I Chief Engineer's Course

COURSE TITLE:

STCW 95 III/2 Chief Engineer (Examination Route)

COURSE STARTING DATE:

14 January 2013 ; 06 May 2013 ; 07 October 2013

COURSE DURATION:

The course duration will be about 3 months. If you clear all the 6 written examination in your first attempt as well as the 1
MCA oral exam (which can be given before or after the written exams), you can expect to receive your Class I CoC in about 5
months from the course starting date.
As written exams are held 4 times in a year with a gap of 3 months approximately, if you clear your exams in the 2nd attempt,
it will take about 8 months duration for you to receive your CoC from the course starting date.

SUBJECTS:

The following are the 6 subjects to be completed at the Class I level:

Two Professional subjects:

4 Academic Subjects are:

 Oct 2010  Oct 2010 datasheet ; Dec 2010 ; Mar 2011 ; Jul 2011 ; Oct 2011 ; Dec 2011 ; Mar 2012
 Oct 2010 ; Dec 2010 ; Mar 2011 ; Jul 2011 ; Oct 2011 ; Dec 2011 ; Mar 2012 ; Jul 2012 ; Oct 2012
  Mar 2010 ; Jul 2010 ; Oct 2010 ; Dec 2010 ; Mar 2011 ; Jul 2011 ; Oct 2011 ; Dec 2011 ; Mar 2012

If you have already cleared your written exams for the 4 academic subjects (i.e. Heat, Mechanics, Naval Arch. and ET) upto
Class I level during your Class II CoC course in the UK, you will NOT have to repeat those subjects again. This would mean
that you would only have to sit for your EK General and EK Motor written examinations as well as the MCA oral examination.

There is only one oral exam conducted by the MCA which the student has to clear. The oral examination can be given at any
point of time during your stay in the UK although the best time is to give it within 2 weeks of your EK General + EK Motor
written examination. You will need a Notice of Eligibility (NoE) from the MCA before you can apply for your oral examination.
Normally, you will get an oral examination date 2 weeks later from the date of application for the oral exam. It is not
compulsory to clear the written exams before you can sit for the MCA oral exams. Once, you have cleared all the 6 written
exams (i.e. 2 Professional Subjects and 4 Academic Subjects) and one oral exam, you can apply for the CoC. It takes about
2 weeks for the CoC to be issued. If you have returned back to India after your written and oral exams, you can send your
written exam results and oral results by courier to the MCA, UK and they will issue the CoC and courier it to you. Written
exams are held 4 times in a year i.e. in the months of April, July, October and December. It takes about 6 weeks to receive
your written examination results from the examination date.

NOTE: If you hold a Class II 2nd Engineers CoC from India, you can opt to do your Class I Chief Engineers CoC from UK. A
minimum of 18 months of sea service would be required by you after your Class II CoC from India to become eligible for
doing your Class I CoC from UK. As you would have done your Class II CoC from India, it is likely that the MCA, UK will ask
you to appear for the Mathematics and Engineering Drawing written exams also in UK apart from the 6 subjects that are
normally there in UK at the Class I level. This is because Mathematics and Engineering Drawing are not there at the Class I
CoC level in UK but only at the Class II CoC level.

Please note that Warsash Maritime Academy is not offering classes for Academic Subjects i.e. Heat, Mechanics, Naval
Architecture and Electrotechnology at present. The college is expected to start the distance learning course for the
academic subjects from September 2013 onwards.

Engineering graduates (Mechanical and Marine) from India may apply to the MCA for exemptions from doing the course for
the above Academic Subjects on the basis of their engineering qualifications / degrees when they apply for their Notice of
Eligibility. You will have to have received your Naric Letter of Comparability (LoC) before you can apply for exemptions to the
MCA. The MCA may grant you exemptions from doing the course for the Academic subjects but there is no exemption from
sitting for the examinations. What it means is that irrespective of your academic qualifications, everyone has to clear the 2
EK subjects (i.e. Motor and General) and the 4 academic subjects written examinations. You may sit for the Academic
subject examinations at Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton if you are doing the EK subjects course at the academy.

TOTAL EXPENSES:

The total expenses including tuition fees, oral and written examination fees, food, accommodation, flight tickets and visas will
work out to be as given below:
  • 5.0 Lakhs Rs/- if you hold a 4 years degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
  • 7.0 Lakhs Rs/- if you do not hold a 4 years degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
The above expenses assumes that you have cleared your exams in the 2nd attempt and hence includes flight ticket and visa
expenses for two trips to the UK. If you are able to clear all exams in your first attempt, your expenses will be about 60,000
Rs/- less from the amount mentioned  above.

If you wish to carry your wife and children, add an additional 1.5 Lakhs per dependent member which will take care of the
flight ticket, visa charges, food and accommodation for the dependent member. The dependent family member will
accompany you on a General Visitor Visa which is valid for a period of 6 months from the visa issue date.

The money that you will need to show for the UK visa will be as follows:
  • 4.0 Lakh Rs/- including deposit paid to college if you have a 4 years degree in BE Mechanical / Marine Engineering.
  • 6.5 Lakh Rs/- including deposit paid to college if you do not have a 4 years degree in BE Mechanical / Marine.
  • 3.0 Lakh Rs/- additional for every family member (wife and child) who wishes to accompany you on a visitor visa.

COURSE FEES (valid upto 31st July 2013):

Professional Subjects: Engineering Knowledge (Motor & General together) - 1,550 GBP
Academic Subjects (Distance Learning): 430 GBP per subject x 4 subjects - 1,720 GBP

Warsash Maritime Academy is presently not offering courses for the 4 academic subjects i.e. Heat, Mechanics,
Navalarchitecture and Electrotechnology. The college is only offering courses for the 2 Professional Subjects i.e. EK General
and EK Motor. It is expected that from September 2013 the distance learning program for the academic subjects will be
offered by Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton, UK.

Students who hold a 4 year degree (not 3 year Diploma or ATS) in Mechanical or Marine Engineering from India are likely to
be eligible for exemptions from certain academic subjects as would be decided by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency
(MCA), UK. Exemptions are only from "attending the course" and not from the "examination" i.e. each student has to clear all
the 6 subjects written examination i.e. 2 Professional Subjects and 4 Academic Subjects. The advantage of getting
exemptions is that you will NOT have to pay for the tuition fee or attend classes for the Academic Subjects which leads to
substantial savings in time and money.

If you are not eligible for getting exemptions from the academic subjects and want to join Warsash Maritime Academy,
Southampton for the Class 1 course, we will guide you in getting the distance learning study material for the 4 Academic
Subjects from City of Glasgow College. The present cost of the distance learning program from City of Glasgow College is
430 GBP per academic subject i.e. 1,720 GBP for all the 4 Academic Subjects. If you are doing the EK General and EK
Motor course from Warsash Maritime Academy, the college will allow you to sit for all the 6 written exams although the
distance learning program for the 4 academic subjects has been taken from City of Glasgow College. The visa letter will be
issued by Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton. Once the distance learning program of Warsash Maritime Academy is
ready, you can opt to take the program from Warsash Maritime Academy itself.

To apply for exemptions, the seafarer applicant with the BE Mechanical / Marine qualification has to first apply for a Letter of
Comparability (LoC) from NARIC. This LoC will state that your degree is equivalent to a British degree. The MCA, UK does
not accept degree certificates directly from India. UK NARIC does the job of comparing your qualification from India with a UK
qualification and issues a letter stating that your degree is comparable with a UK degree. This LoC is to be submitted to the
MCA whilst you apply for your Notice of Eligibility (NoE) and you may simultaneously request the MCA for granting you
exemptions from the academic subjects.

Applying for a Letter of Comparability (LOC) from NARIC, UK (only for students with BE Mechanical / Marine):

As a graduate mechanical / marine engineer you will need to send your documents to NARIC (National Recognition
Information Centre for the United Kingdom) for getting a Letter of Comparability from them. The time duration to receive a
Letter of Comparability would be 1 month approximately. Please do visit the NARIC website
www.naric.org.uk. You have to fill
up the Online Application Form on the NARIC website and make the requisite payment of 43.50 GBP (including return
postage charges) as mentioned on the NARIC website, preferably through a credit card. Take a printout of the Application
Form and the Payment Receipt. On filling up the Application Form, you will receive a Reference Number which will be used
for tracking the status of your application.

You will need to send the following documents (photocopies only, attestation not required) to NARIC:

  • BE / BTech degree passing certificate (photocopy only)
  • Individual semester / yearly marksheets (photocopy only)
  • Printout of NARIC online application form
  • Printout of payment of 43.50 GBP done on NARIC website using a credit card (or DD of 49.50 GBP in favour of
    ECCTIS LTD.)

For making the DD of 49.50 GBP in favour of ECCTIS LTD. you may contact Mr. Pradeep Tambe at 09819058853 from Cox
& Kings, Mumbai office. It is however faster and more convenient to use a credit card. Debit cards are not acceptable from
India. The cost is less if you are making payment using a credit card online rather than making a Demand Draft.

The NARIC address is given in the "Contact Us" section of the NARIC website. The photocopies NEED NOT BE ATTESTED
i.e. just normal photocopies are to be sent. The documents are to be sent directly by the student to UK NARIC address and
not to our address in Mumbai. If you do not have your own credit card, you can use the credit card of your parents / relatives
or friends also. Kindly note that UK NARIC will return your documents and LoC by normal post which will take about 1 - 2
weeks time (included in the total time of 30 days mentioned above) after the processing is complete as mentioned on the UK
NARIC website. If you reside in a remote location in India, it is advisable that you give the returning address of someone in
Mumbai preferably. From past experiences we have seen that many students residing in remote areas or tier B cities in India
did not receive the post sent by UK NARIC as it is delivered in India by the India post office whose services are not very
reliable. If  you wish, you may give our Mumbai address as the returning address for your NARIC LOC.

A sample NARIC LoC is enclosed here. Click
NARIC Page 1 and NARIC Page 2
The NARIC LoC will be of two pages as shown in the links above.
For step by step details of filling up the NARIC LoC form on the NARIC website, please click

Applying for a Notice of Eligibility (NoE) to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), UK:

Students need to apply for a NOE to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), UK to be eligible to sit for the written and
oral examinations in the UK. You can apply for your NoE from India prior to going to the UK or you can apply for your NoE
during your stay in the UK. It is not necessary to be in possession of NoE for booking the Class I Chief Engineer Course at
Warsash Maritime Academy, Southampton, UK. However, if you have doubts that some of your sea-time may not be counted
by the MCA for whatsoever reasons (for e.g. missing documents, no stamps on the CDC, C/E did not give sea service
testimonials, etc.), it would be advisable to do your NoE before booking your course.  The processing time for the NoE is
normally 28 working days + postage time but it may extend to a few months also if the MCA is not satisfied about the
authenticity of your documents. If your documents are found to be forged, all your documents will be seized and you will not
be allowed to sit for exams in the UK again.

The following is the procedure to apply for a NOE:

Please visit the MCA website
www.mcga.gov.uk and download the MSF 4275 form directly from the website.
Take a printout of the NoE form and fill up the NoE form in CAPITAL LETTERS with BLACK PEN.
The following documents are to be sent to the MCA office in
ORIGINALS only:
-> NoE application form MSF 4275
-> Passport (notarised copy of first page only as it is illegal to send the Passport out of the country by post)
 -> CDC
 -> Class 2 CoC
-> Chief Engineers testimonials for a minimum of 18 months after Class 2 CoC
-> Valid Medical Fitness Certificate in ILO 147 format from any DG shipping approved doctor
-> 2 passport size photographs (see details about photographs given in the NoE form guidance notes)
-> DD of 201 GBP in favour of "THE MARITIME AND COASTGUARD AGENCY"
Send the documents by a good courier for e.g. DHL and check on the DHL website when the documents have been
received by the MCA. The address of the MCA is given in the last page of the NoE form.
BE Mechanical / Marine students need to send the following additional documents in ORIGINALS only at the time of
NoE application for claiming exemptions from attending the Academic Subjects course.
-> NARIC Letter of Comparability LoC
 -> BE passing certificate
-> Individual semester / yearly mark-sheets or transcript
-> Covering letter for claiming exemptions

MSF 4275 Form Filling Instructions

If you have not got any information from the MCA after 40 days, please send an email to the MCA at
engineering@mcga.gov.uk mentioning your Name and Date of Birth. Ask them, what is the status of your NoE. The NoE
processing time is normally 28 days + postage time.

Examinations are held 4 times in a year in the months of April, July, October and December. It is upto the student if he
wishes to give all 6 written exams in one shot or if he wishes to do it part by part. It is theoretically possible, but practically
difficult to clear all the 6 exams together. It would be however advisable to appear for all the 6 written exams in your first
attempt as you never know that the exam paper in the next attempt could be a difficult one whereas the exam paper in your
first attempt could be an easy one.

If you are able to clear all your 6 exams (EK Motor + EK General + Heat + Mechanics + Naval Architecture +
Electrotechnology) in the first attempt itself, you can expect to receive your Class I CoC in about 5 months from the course
starting date. If you clear your exams in the 2nd attempt, you can expect to receive your Class I CoC in about 8 months from
the first course starting date. If you are only required to do your EK General + EK Motor course (as the academic subjects
were cleared upto Class I level during your Class II CoC course in UK), you can expect to receive your CoC in about 5
months from the first course starting date. The results for the written exams take about 6 weeks to come out and the
issuance of CoC takes another 2 weeks time. Hence, the earliest that you can hope to get your CoC even if you have
cleared all your exams in the first attempt is about 5 months from the first course starting date.

Please note that the STUDENT VISITOR visa is issued for a period of 6 months only as your course duration in UK for EK
General + Motor is only 3 months and the remaining subjects are offered visa distance learning. For course duration of less
than 6 months, you have to apply for a STUDENT VISITOR visa and not a STUDENT visa. Hence, within the 6 months period,
you will get only 1 attempt to sit for the exams. Therefore, after sitting for the exams in the first attempt, you will come back to
India and later on apply for a STUDENT VISITOR visa again to just  go and sit for the remaining exams after a period of
about 3 months. Student Visitor visa cant be extended in the UK and you are not allowed to work part-time in the UK on this
visa.

We have given the scheduling below for students of October 2012, January 2013 and May 2013 batches respectively. The
October 2013 schedule will follow a similar pattern of October 2012 but the dates would be advanced by 1 year.

October 2012 schedule:

  • You will depart from India around the 28th of September 2012 as your course is starting on the 1st of October 2012.
The latest you should have applied for your UK student visitor visa is 3 weeks before the course starting date i.e. by
the 10th of September 2012. You need to maintain a minimum of 80% attendance in the class or else you will not be
permitted to sit for the examination. Hence, it is advisable not to delay your joining the course.
  • Your EK General + EK Motor classes are expected to end by or before the 5th of December 2012 tentatively. SQA
Examinations will start from the 10th of December 2013. The SQA examination forms will be filled up at Warsash
Maritime Academy, Southampton approximately 1 month before the examination date for all the 6 subjects.
  • BE Mechanical and BE Marine students who are looking to get exemptions from course completion of the Academic
Subjects should have got the exemptions mentioned on their NoE before the SQA examination form filling procedures.

completion letter from City of Glasgow College and then only will they be allowed to fill the SQA examination form. To
get the course completion letter from City of Glasgow College, you will need to submit the assignments given in the
DLP to City of Glasgow College and they would respond to you directly.
  • The SQA examination will be over in 1 weeks time approximately i.e. on the 14th of December 2012. You should book
for your MCA orals around the 20th of December 2013 so that you have about 1 weeks time to prepare for the MCA
orals. MCA orals are booked in advance and hence you should book in advance by about 3 - 4 weeks so that you do
not face any problems in getting the MCA oral dates. The MCA office in Southampton will be about 10 minutes walking
distance from where you will be residing in the city of Southampton.
  • The SQA examination results are expected in about 5 - 6 weeks time i.e. sometime around the end of January 2013.
After having completed your SQA written exams and MCA orals, you should return back to India by the 25th of
December 2012 and await your results. The SQA results will be sent to your address in UK or India depending what
address you have filled up in your SQA examination form.
  • If you clear all your SQA exams in the first attempt itself (theoretically possible but practically difficult), you will then
send your documents to the MCA for applying for your CoC. It takes about 2 weeks for the MCA to issue the CoC after
they have received your documents. The MCA will courier your CoC to your address in India.
  • If you did not clear all your 6 written examinations, you will have to go back to UK to resit those papers which you did
not clear. The next examination will start from the 22nd of March 2013 for which you will have to fill up the SQA
examination form again, pay the resit exam fees and Warsash Maritime Academy will issue you a student visitor visa
letter. The SQA examination will be over on the 28th of March 2013. You will reapply for the student visitor visa, go
and sit for the exams and return back to India. Your duration of stay in the UK will not exceed 1 week. Thereafter, you
will again wait for your results. Alternatively, you may decide to join ship after coming back from UK in December 2012
and may opt to sit for the examinations starting in July or October 2013. Should you clear the SQA exams in the 2nd
attempt, you will now apply for your CoC as explained in the previous bullet point.
  • Should you be clearing your exams in 2 attempts, your actual duration of stay in the UK will be 3 months in your first
trip and 7 days in your 2nd trip.

January 2013 schedule:

  • You will depart from India around the 12th of January 2013 as your course is starting on the 14th of January 2013.
The latest you should have applied for your UK student visitor visa is 3 weeks before the course starting date i.e. by
the 24th of December 2012. You need to maintain a minimum of 80% attendance in the class or else you will not be
permitted to sit for the examination. Hence, it is advisable not to delay your joining the course.
  • Your EK General + EK Motor classes are expected to end by or before the 18th of March 2013 tentatively. SQA
Examinations will start from the 22nd of March 2013. The SQA examination forms will be filled up at Warsash Maritime
Academy, Southampton approximately 1 month before the examination date for all the 6 subjects.

Subjects should have got the exemptions mentioned on their NoE before the SQA examination form filling procedures.
  • Students who have opted to take the DLP program from City of Glasgow College should have got the course
completion letter from City of Glasgow College and then only will they be allowed to fill the SQA examination form. To
get the course completion letter from City of Glasgow College, you will need to submit the assignments given in the
DLP to City of Glasgow College and they would respond to you directly.
  • The SQA examination will be over in 1 weeks time approximately i.e. on the 28th of March 2012. You should book for
your MCA orals around the 12th of April 2013 so that you have about 2 weeks time to prepare for the MCA orals. MCA
orals are booked in advance and hence you should book in advance by about 3 - 4 weeks so that you do not face any
problems in getting the MCA oral dates. The MCA office in Southampton will be about 10 minutes walking distance
from where you will be residing in the city of Southampton.
  • The SQA examination results are expected in about 5 - 6 weeks time i.e. sometime around the middle of May 2013.

COST OF LIVING IN SOUTHAMPTON:

The approximate living cost is as given below but it will vary from person to person:
  • Accommodation rent: £ 180 – 220 / month / person
  • Food (home cooked): £ 40 – 60 / month / person
  • Electricity and heating bills: £ 10 – 20 / month / person

EDUCATION LOANS:

Most banks in India do not understand what is a COC course and hence you will find resistance in their giving you education
loans. They will  come up with objections that the course is not a degree / diploma course, they do not give loans for nautical
/ engineering courses, ask you to get approval from DG Shipping about the course, tell you that you are not a student as
you are already working and hence they cannot give you a loan. However, 80% students going for COC courses do still
manage to get an education loan. It is always advisable to apply to atleast 5 different banks for your education loan because
you can never be sure that any particular bank may give you a loan. We have come across many cases where the bank has
promised a student to give the loan and later backed out at the last moment. Hence, it is very important that you apply to
atleast 5 different banks and hope that some bank will help you out. If you happen to know the bank manager personally,
getting an education loan becomes that much easier. We can give you loan sanction letters of past students which may be of
help to you in convincing the bank manager to give you a loan. The loan processing time may take anywhere between 1
week to 1 month. You can apply for an education loan only in the city where you reside for e.g. somebody staying in Delhi
has to apply for his loan from Delhi only and can’t apply from Mumbai.
You may also contact CREDILA for education loans. CREDILA is a non banking financial company approved by the RBI and
they specialize in only giving educational loans. They have given loans to students of WARSASH MARITIME ACADEMY in
the past. They would however ask you for the necessary documents like collateral, guarantors, etc. You may contact Mr.
Sunil Sawant of CREDILA at the following numbers: 09987759433 / 09869165643.
You may also try to take Loan Against Jewellery. This is the fastest means of getting a loan as the money is disbursed on the
same day. Most banks for e.g. HDFC, ICICI, etc. give loans against jewellery.

FLIGHT TICKETS:

The flight fares vary considerably depending upon which time of the year you are flying and how early are you booking the
tickets. For e.g., a one way fare from Mumbai to London will vary from 17,000 – 25,000 Rs/- whilst a return fare i.e. Mumbai –
London – Mumbai will vary from 40,000 – 60,000 Rs/-. You may book your flight tickets online through websites like Yatra.
com, makemytrip.com, etc. or through a local travel agent. You may also contact Mr. Pradeep Tambe from Cox & Kings,

Heathrow. We will introduce you to the other students who will be going with you to Southampton so that you do not have to
travel alone.

HOW TO REACH SOUTHAMPTON:

There are direct / indirect  flights from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Calcutta, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Cohin to London. On
arrival at the London Heathrow airport, you will have to go through immigration check up which may take about 1 – 2 hours
depending upon the rush at the airport. Joining the London Heathrow Airport is the National Express Coach station / bus
stop.  You can buy the bus ticket at the bus stop and the fare is approximately  £15 for a one way trip. The journey duration
from London Heathrow airport to Southampton is about 75 – 90 minutes and there is a bus leaving every 45 minutes on an
average. If you happen to arrive at London airport after 9 PM, it is advisable to stay back at the airport in the night and take
the early morning bus to Southampton. You will find many tourists / students staying overnight at the London airport and
taking the morning coach to their respective destination. You will not be charged for staying during the night at the airport
but you will have to make do with a chair only or maybe sit on the floor with your luggage. On reaching Southampton bus
stop, you will take a taxi to your landlord’s house or to a hotel. As the bus stop is located in the heart of the city of
Southampton, your taxi fare will not be more than £5.

TRAVELLING TO WARSASH MARITIME ACADEMY FROM YOUR HOME:

The college runs a free bus service only for the students from the University campus (located about 10 minutes walking
distance from your likely residence) to Warsash Maritime Academy and back, five days a week. The college bus time table
will be available at the reception of the college. The bus journey would be about 35 minutes. Some students buy their own
car and share the petrol expenses with other students who travel along with them. You can drive on an Indian driving license
for upto 1 year in the UK.

ACCOMMODATION:

The following are the different ways, you can get a house in Southampton.
  • 2 weeks prior to your leaving for Southampton, we will give you telephone numbers of the landlords who rent out their
houses in Southampton. You can call them and express your interest in taking their house on rent. The house can’t be
finalized over the phone as an agreement will be signed between the landlord and the tenant. Moreover, the landlord
must find you to be acceptable to him and you also need to see the house before you confirm the house.
  • Students from previous batch usually have some rooms vacant and they email us to pass on their details to the new
students who will be coming. We shall pass on their details to you so that you can get in touch with them.
  • Some students decide to rent a Bed and Breakfast (B&B) for one day on their arrival in Southampton. They then see a
few houses and decide which one to take.

On signing the contract with the landlord, you will have to pay one month’s of rent as security deposit as well as the rent in
advance for that month. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your contract safely with you and insist that the rent will be
paid by cheques only. Ask the landlord for a copy of rent receipt as well for your safety. Most contract’s come with a one
month notice period which means that you will have to give one month’s notice before vacating or else you may lose your
deposit money. At the time of  returning the deposit money, the landlord may make deductions for any damage that the
tenant may have done to the property.
Most of the houses are usually fully furnished i.e. you will have a bed, mattress, wardrobe, study table, curtains, gas stove,
washing machine, refrigerator, etc. A TV may be there but you will have to pay for the cable connection. The houses are
usually 3 – 4 bedroom + hall + kitchen. The bathroom and kitchen are usually shared between the student’s whilst each
student has an independent room for himself. Student’s usually do their own cooking as eating outside is very expensive in
the UK. You will have to buy your own utensils as they are not provided for by the landlord.

CARRYING MONEY TO UK:

Please take note of the following regarding carrying money to UK:
  • For the balance tuition fees to be paid to the college, you may make a Demand Draft in favour of
"SOUTHAMPTON SOLENT UNIVERSITY INCOME ACCOUNT". Alternatively, you may remit the balance tuition fees by
telegraphic transfer wherein the money is transferred electronically from your bank account directly into the college
bank account. Please contact Mr. Pradeep Tambe from Cox & Kings, Mumbai at 09819058853 for any assistance that
you may require in making the Demand Draft or doing the telegraphic transfer.
  • Carry about 500 GBP in cash (1,000 GBP if you are travelling with family) as you will require to pay rent for 1 month
and advance deposit to the landlord immediately on signing the rental contract with him.
  • The balance money may be carried in International Travel Card which are offered by various banks. These are debit
cards in which you can carry cash and use like a normal debit card in your country of travel. Avoid using the debit card
offered by your bank in India which is linked to your savings account as the transaction charges and foreign exchange
conversion ratio will be very high. You may contact Mr. Pradeep Tambe from Cox & Kings, Mumbai at 09819058853 to
issue you with an International Travel Card. There are no separate fees to be paid for these travel cards. You only
pay for the foreign exchange that you buy for loading on the travel card.
